Olivia Randall to compete in Miss Mississippi Junior High America

    Olivia Randall will represent her hometown as Junior High Miss Meridian in the Miss Mississippi Junior High America competition.

    The state program will be held Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. at Saenger Theatre in Hattiesburg.

    “I am very excited to represent Meridian at the pageant,” Olivia said. “This is an opportunity to showcase my talents and learn from the public appearances and community service that is highlighted by the Mississippi Miss High School America Pageant.”

    An eighth grader at Clarkdale School, Olivia is an All A Honor Roll student, and a member of the junior high cheerleading squad and archery team.

    She is the daughter of David and Penny Randall of Meridian and the granddaughter of H.L. Randall and the late Peggy Randall, Nan Kent and Tom Alsobrooks.

    The Miss High School, Junior High School and Collegiate America Pageant (MMHSA) competition exists for the purpose of providing personal and professional opportunities for young women. It is our goal to provide outstanding high school, junior high and collegiate girls the opportunity to compete in a pageant system that has the highest of moral values.  

    Miss Mississippi High School Contestants should be in the 9-11 grades; Junior High contestants are in grades 5-8 grades and Collegiate contestants are 12th grade – 26 years old and lives in or goes to school in Mississippi.

    Last year, 59 young ladies from across Mississippi competed for scholarships and prizes totaling more than $40,000. Alexis Carter from Moselle won the 2014 Miss Mississippi High School America title. Kaley Ford, Summit, won 2014 Miss Mississippi Collegiate America and Nikki Tullos of Madison was crowned Miss Mississippi Junior High America 2014.

    MMHSA Community Service projects include the 3D School for Dyslexia in Petal, Brookhaven Animal Rescue League, a no-kill shelter and The Doll’s House’s food pantry.  The MMHSA pageant has been recognized by Mayor Johnny DuPree of Hattiesburg, Mayor Joe Cox of Brookhaven and Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant for the hard work the Miss Mississippi High School America Pageant has contributed to its community services.
