Published 4:00 am Sunday, January 3, 2016
- A group of MSU-Meridian business students recently returned from New York City, where they attended the DECA Collegiate Leadership Academy. At the academy they were exposed to the global business industry in a major market and enhanced their leadership skills via hands-on experiences and workshops. MSU-Meridian's College DECA organization was formed this semester and this will be the first time the Meridian campus has sent a group to the Leadership Academy. Academic advisors for the group are Dr. Natasha Randle and Dr. Yingge Qu. Pictured, from left, are: Kim Amerson of Decatur, a senior business major and event coordinator and chair of the membership committee; Elizabeth Barnacastle of Meridian, a junior business major and treasurer; India Gilbert of Lake, a senior business major; Tanya Ocampo of Meridian, a senior business major and vice president; Dr. William Hill, head of the division of Business at MSU-Meridian; and Brittany Moore of Meridian, a senior business major and president of the Collegiate DECA group.
