EMCC wins game shortened by brawl

East Mississippi Community College’s game with Mississippi Delta Community College turned ugly just before the half, as a brawl broke out between numerous players on both teams.
The Lions led 48-0 with 59 remaining in the second quarter when the brawl began. The incident lasted several minutes, and afterward, the game was called. MACJC officials will have to determine whether or not the contest will count as an official game.

John Franklin III tallied five rushing touchdowns for the Lions, scoring on runs of 13, 5 and 29 yards in the first quarter and carries of 33 and 65 yards in the second quarter. Jacquez Horsley scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter, and Dario Robinson had a 12-yard touchdown reception in the second half. EMCC had a PAT blocked to bring the score to 48-0.
The Lions are scheduled to host East Central Community College next Saturday in the opening round of the MACJC playoffs.
