Four candidates will compete in two different races on Tuesday, hoping to snag a chance at running for a congressional office in November. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Michael Guest and Whit Hughes will compete on the Republican ticket to represent the Third Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. The winner will face Michael Ted Evans, the Democratic candidate, in the fall.
In the race to unseat Republican Sen. Roger Wicker, David Baria and Howard Sherman will attempt to win the Democratic nomination to serve in the U.S. Senate.
Registered voters who did not vote in the first primary may vote in the second primary.
Voters who did vote on June 5, must vote in the same party primary today.
Voters should refer to their registration card under “county precinct location” for their correct precinct for 2018. Voters must bring a government issued ID, for example, a driver’s license, state issued ID or passport.
Today’s primaries are only for the runoffs. Judges races are scheduled in the November general election.
