Mr. and Mrs. Danny R. Garrett of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Casey Lauren to Corp. Justin Michael Powell, U.S. Marine Corps., son of the Rev. and Mrs. Randy Powell of Apopka, Fla.

The wedding will be held Saturday, July 22, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Northcrest Baptist Church.

Miss Garrett is the granddaughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Max O. Burris of Meridian and the late Lorena McGrew of Collinsville.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Meridian High School and is attending Meridian Community College pursuing a degree in nursing.

While attending Meridian High, she was a member of the National Honor Society, the Wildcat Symphonic Band, and the Wildcat Marching Band, where she served as drum major her junior and senior years.

Miss Garrett is employed by Rush Medical Group and Highland Park’s Dentzel Carousel.

Mr. Powell is the grandson of Helen Bass of Okeechobee, Fla. and Wilma Powell of Moody, Ala.

The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Jefferson County High School.

While attending Jefferson County High School, he was a member of the varsity football team.

Mr. Powell is employed by the U.S. Marine Corps.

A reception will be held in the church multi-purpose building following the ceremony.
