Cheryl Owens / The Meridian StarPassersby on Highway 19 North see the old First Assembly worship site. The congregation outgrew this building and worship services are now held at a building at the rear of the property.

First Assembly was founded in 1921, on 8th Street and 46th Avenue in Meridian. In 1979, the church was relocated to its present location at 1929 Highway 19 North. FAM has long been an important part of our community providing ministry helps to those in need across the full spectrum of our community.

Today, FAM’s ministries range from seasonal productions like “Bethlehem Revisited,” a Nativity production that covers all the related Christmas stories of the Bible, to a massive VBS outreach in June. FAM engages in active productive street ministry and provides benevolence assistance in appropriate circumstances to families in need. FAM’s Celebrate Recovery Ministry meets on Friday nights at 6:30 and recently recognized 13, one-year graduates.

Our congregation is a multigenerational and multiracial family of believers. We serve a Real God, who gives Real Life, through the ministries of Real People.
