Meridianites joined the staff and owners of Juicy Guru in celebrating the opening of the new eatery Thursday with a ribbon cutting in downtown Meridian.
Meridian Main Street Director Matt Schanrock said the restaurant has been open for several weeks and has received good feedback from the community. Juicy Guru opened just before Christmas, he said, and was able to take part in Main Street’s Merry Ale Trail event celebrating the holidays.
“You were able to participate in one of our events with the Ale Trail, and all I heard was positive from everyone,” he said. “So, just congratulations on opening.”
Dustin Evans, who owns Juicy Guru with his wife, Tiffany, said the support from the community has been overwhelming, and he wants to thank everyone who has visited and spread the word about the new restaurant. Looking forward, he said he would like to incorporate live music and other events and looks forward to the restaurants success in Meridian.
“One thing I do want to say is I’m so overwhelmed from the support we’ve got moving our business here,” he said. “Thank you all so much, and we’re looking to do big things in the future.”
Tiffany Evans said she grew up in Meridian and now owns a business in Meridian. Being able to come back to her hometown and open a business is an exciting venture, she said.
“I grew up in Meridian. I love Meridian, and I’m super excited that I can actually say that I have a business in Meridian now,” she said.
City Councilwoman Ty Bell Lindsey said she is glad to welcome another new business to Meridian. Both the food and staff at Juicy Guru have been wonderful, she said, and she looks forward to what’s to come.
“Thank you so much for this incredible vision to come to our community and have Meridian be your next home for your lovely establishment,” she said. “I was able to eat there, you probably remember, a few weeks ago. The food was fantastic, guys.”
