‘Through the Looking Glass’ opens at The Max in Meridian

Paula Merritt / The Meridian StarJ.D. and Kieara Harris view the “Through the Looking Glass” exhibit at the Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience Saturday. The exhibit, a collection of photographs by Alysia Burton Steele and Betty Press, runs through Jan. 5, 2020.

A crowd gathered on Saturday at the Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience in Meridian to hear photojournalist  Alysia Burton Steele present “The Power of Oral Histories: Unearthing Mississippi’s Forgotten.”  Steele and photographer Betty Press have presented their work for a combined exhibit, “Through the Looking Glass,” which opened Saturday at the MAX and runs through Jan. 5, 2020.
