The Bonita Lakes Mall will soon have a new tenant with the arrival of Hype Indoor Adventures, an indoor recreation and entertainment park predicted to open by the holiday season.

The 92,000-square-foot facility will include climbing walls, 150 wall-to-wall trampolines, an Olympic trampoline area, a high ropes course, laser tag, foam pits with battle beams, axe throwing, aerial silks, an indoor electric go-kart track and batting cages, according to a mall news release.

No one at Bonita Lakes Mall or RockStep Capital, which owns the mall, could be reached for comment Tuesday.

The release said Hype would occupy the former Sears building space with activities for guests of all ages, including a special zone for children aged six or under.

“We believe the future of our mall will offer multi-purpose, mixed use of spaces. Customers want to have experiences and HYPE is a great example of using a space to provide exactly that. We’re excited to compliment Meridian’s multiple entertainment venues,” Andy Weiner, the president of RockStep, said in a statement.

The release from Bonita Lakes Mall said it would host events such as birthday parties, corporate functions, church events in its party rooms along with field trips or other educational activities.

“The addition of HYPE will position Bonita Lakes Mall as the premier entertainment destination for Meridian and will draw thousands of visitors from the surrounding regions. HYPE will bring a family friendly entertainment experience to the community that is much needed. Our commitment will be to provide unforgettable service to all that come to HYPE,” Renee Williams, the general manager for Bonita Lakes Mall, said in a statement.

The facility will employ approximately 60 people.
