Lauderdale County School District names Andrea Williams communications director

Understanding the community was one thing the Lauderdale County School District  was looking for in a communications director.  

After a searching for months to fill the position, Andrea Williams, anchor and reporter for WTOK’s Good Morning Meridian, was named to the newly-created position during the district’s board meeting on Thursday night.

“I hope to only strengthen any possible gaps between the district and the community,” said Williams.

Superintendent John-Mark Cain said filling the position was a long process, but  Williams was chosen because she knows the community. 

“We are just thrilled to have her join our team,” said Cain.

Williams, a Pulaski native, came to Meridian in 1999 to work for WTOK. 

“We can all grow together, not only as a school district but as community,” she said.
