The Dentzel Carousel is working once again.
The carousel, at 1802 Carousel Drive in the Highland Park neighborhood, was not working earlier this month because it needed “some maintenance on the pulley belt,” said Laura Carmichael, the City of Meridian’s coordinator of cultural affairs.
“It is fully operational now,” she said.
The carousel is open to the public from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, said Shimeka Robinson, administrative secretary for the city’s Parks and Recreation Department. Hours for the carousel vary depending upon the time of year, according to the City of Meridian’s website.
The city purchased the carousel in 1909.
