Twin States News launches on FOX 30, NBC 30 AND CBS 24

WGBC FOX 30, NBC 30 AND WMDN CBS 24 are launching Twin States News, beginning Sept. 25. Twin States News will air weeknights on CBS 24 and NBC at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. and at 9 p.m. on FOX 30.
“Our Fox 30 News @ 9 has been so successful and we’ve had many people ask us when will we begin doing news at other times,” said Jon Pollard, the stations’ vice president and regional general manager, “We’re really excited to be bringing viewers another voice for local news, weather and sports in our area.”
The Twin States News team includes anchors Anne Immanuel and Mark Edwards, meteorologists Ross Whitely and Kim Walker and sports anchor Charlie Lapastora, Regional News Director Randy Swan and reporters Ben Lockridge, Jeremey Ford and Chelsea Jones.
Each newscast will offer East Mississippi and West Alabama’s top stories, local sports and a local weather forecast with local reporters delivering stories important to the Twin States.
Mike Reed, Meridian Family of Station’s owner, says taking news to the traditional news time periods has been a long time coming. The station is meeting a need in the community by giving our viewers another choice to get their local news, information, sports and weather.
“We are excited to bring another voice for local news, events and happenings to Meridian and surrounding communities. It’s a strong community and we want to reflect the great things happening in our newscasts.”
Twin States News will make its inaugural broadcast on Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. on CBS 24 and NBC 30 and then with new newscasts at 9 p.m. on FOX 30 and at 10 p.m. on CBS 24 and NBC 30.
