A suspect in the Friday murder of a Newton man turned himself in to police Tuesday night.
Robbie Chapman, who was sought for the death of Jamarcus Townsend, 21, surrendered at the Newton Police Department shortly before 6 p.m., according to Newton Police Chief Harvey Curry.
Over the weekend, police arrested Lyndell Jones, 17, in connection with the death of Townsend.
Police are searching for two other suspects, Richard Lofton and Jordan Myers.
Townsend died following a fatal shooting in Newton Friday night. Police responded to a call concerning shots fired and a gunshot victim at 113 Tillman St.
Curry said police had received previous calls at the home concerning shots fired but said the investigation would reveal if they were related.
“The investigation is leading to gang affiliations,” Curry said on Monday. “As we continue to investigate that may change.”
Jones and Chapman both face a murder charge.
Curry said Lofton and Myers would also be charged with murder.
