Memorial services for Julia Banks Ready will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Carl White officiating. Gathering will begin at 2 p.m. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ready, 79, passed away on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at her Meridian residence, where she has lived since 1956. She was a bookkeeper and office manager for Ready & Associates for 20 years. And, she was a business partner, loving wife and mother.
Mrs. Ready was a member of the University of Mississippi Chapter of Tri Delta sorority. She was a founding member of the Meridian Symphony League and was instrumental in organizing the first Meridian Symphony Orchestra. Mrs. Ready was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, William E. Ready of Meridian; daughter, Dean R. Harris (Gene) of Southhaven; sons, Bill Ready Jr. (Ginger) of Meridian and George B. Ready (Mandy) of Hattiesburg; sister, Betty Guess of Oxford; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Banks and Louise Vaughn Banks.
