John P. Davis, Jr.

    Services for John P. “Johnnie” Davis, Jr. will be held Monday, November 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Larry Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

    Mr. Davis, 63, of Meridian, died November 15, 2013, at Infinity Hospice in Marion. He was owner of Davis Auto Service of Meridian. Mr. Davis was an active member of Cotton Heights Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He also enjoyed singing solo’s of his favorite gospel songs.

    Survivors in clued his wife of thirty-six years, Anitra Sue Trawick Davis; daughter, Monica Davis Tingle and husband Chris of Hernando, Mississippi; son, Jonathan Davis and wife Candace of Meridian; grandchildren, Jackson and Anna Caroline Tingle; three sisters, Ouida Boswell and husband Robert, Sue Trawick and husband Terry and Jennie Symonds; brother-in-law, Bobby Symonds; several nieces and nephews and very special friends, Ray and Carolyn Shelton.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, father, John P. Davis, Sr. and mother, Frances Davis Payne and step-father, Frank J. Payne.

    The family requests memorials be made to Cotton Heights Free Will Baptist Church, 1377 Cotton Gin Rd., Meridian, MS 39305 or the charity of your choice.

    Pallbearers will be Deon Burton, Elroy Gathright, Don Mattox, Ray Shelton, Daniel Symonds, and Kevin Trawick. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Holyfield, Ed Jackson, Rick Jacoby, Jo Limerick, Bob West and Kalon Griggs
