Mississippi Department of Public Safety launches new website

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS) has launched a new website to provide citizens with a more user-friendly, modernized system of connecting with the state agency that provides a wide range of services to the public. The new DPS website is located at www.dps.state.ms.us on the Internet.

“The new DPS website offers transparency, engages users and is a convenient portal to the information and services that DPS provides,” said Gov. Phil Bryant in a recent news release. “I appreciate Commissioner Santa Cruz for spearheading this effort and continuing to make government more accessible to the taxpayer.”
According to DPS Commissioner Albert Santa Cruz, the new website that is now better-organized and more user-friendly than ever before.
“We’re committed to updating the website frequently with new, relevant information, and also having more capabilities for use in emergency situations such as Amber alerts,” Cruz stated in the news release. “From renewing driver’s licenses to providing answers to questions about important issues such as firearms permits, the new website will help Mississippians have more access to the services provided to them by DPS.”
The new website is organized in a manner that visually provides access to the most frequently searched areas such as Driver Services, including driver’s license online renewals, the Firearms Permit Unit, Crime & Investigation, the Highway Patrol, and other divisions.
The website also integrates the use of social media such as Facebook and Twitter, and can display dynamic content like news feeds, most wanted lists and other information.
