Louise Hamrick Chapman

    Services for Louise Hamrick Chapman will be held today, at 10 a.m., at Newton County Funeral Home South with Bro. Steve Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Old Fellowship Cemetery in Jasper County with Newton County Funeral Home South in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Chapman, 90, of Newton, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Woodland Court Retirement and Personal Care Center. She was native of Ennis,Texas, and lived in Mississippi most of her life. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and needle point work. She also enjoyed traveling, especially during her retirement years, visiting many regions of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Her favrorite past times were storytelling with her grandchildren, and attending to members of the family in her own personal loving way. She was member of Faith Baptist Church in Jackson.

    Survivors include her son, W.J. “Bill” (Barbara) Hamrick of Newton; her grandchildren: Robert (Melanie) Hamrick of Newton, Maura Hamrick and her husband Ed Parr of Liberty, N.C., Bill Hamrick and Rick Hamrick, both of Starkville, Holly (Wyatt) Tullos of Newton;  nine great-grandchildren; one nephew, Bill (Judy) Wall of Clinton; one niece, Becky DeLappe of Atlanta, Ga.; and, one special first cousin, Gene Williams of Newton.

    She was preceded in death by her husbands: Bob Hamrick and Clarence Chapman; two sons: John Hamrick and Stephen Douglas Hamrick; her parents, Andrew Graydon and Eva Victoria Williams Wall; and one brother, Bennie (Gene) Wall Sr.

    Pallbearers will be Rob Hamrick, Bill Hamrick, Rick Hamrick, Michael Hamrick, Wyatt Tullos and  Bill Wall.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodland Court Retirement and Personal Care Center or Old Fellowship Cemetery Fund.

    Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
