DULUTH, Minn. — Maurices, a leading national specialty store for savvy, fashion-conscious customers, has announced a new store will be opening at Meridian Crossroads in Meridian planned for mid-October.
“We’re very excited to open in Meridian and look forward to bringing customers a new option for young women’s clothing as well as an exciting new shopping experience,” said John Schroeder, Maurices vice-president of stores. Schroeder adds, “We look for the best opportunity in each market. The development in the area we are moving into looked like the perfect opportunity to continue to reach Maurices target customer and continued success of our business.”
Maurices has named LaShaunda Hopson as store manager. Hopson will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store, including sales performance, visual presentation, and personnel recruitment and training.
Maurices will feature a wide assortment of clothing in a 3,800 square foot store with styles that work from every day casual to special occasions. Maurices also offers women a range of sizes from 1-18 (in select stores). Maurices carries their own exclusive brands of Studio Y and Maurices.
Maurices believes in having a positive impact on the communities we are a part of by supporting causes and associate involvement in activities on a local and national level. We understand how unique each community is so we encourage our associates living there to play an active role within their community.
In this, stores are empowered to support local events and charitable activities to become an integral member within the community. In 2006, Maurices became a National Team Partner with the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. This cause is supported through associate team participation and the sale of an exclusive item-to date, Maurices has contributed over $625,000 to the American Cancer Society through team fund raising and our exclusive in sore items. What we love about this partnership is that dollars stay within the local community. In 2006, Maurices had a holiday plush named Max the Mutt that sold for $5. For every Max sold, $2.50 of each sale went to our local American Cancer Society, in addition to $2,800 donated to local hospitals and children’s organizations. Maurices also supports community organizations through associate volunteerism and matching contributions.
Maurices’ moderate prices, convenient locations, and focus on friendly customer service differentiate it from department stores and other specialty retailers. The Meridian store is one of more than 50 stores that will open nationwide this year.
