And, back to Paul’s first wife, the late Linda Eastman McCartney, who died in 1998, a total of 51 of her photographs of rock and roll history will be on display July 19-Sept. 20 at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art in Laurel.
It was an urban legend that circulated when she married Paul McCartney that Linda was heir to the Eastman-Kodak empire. She wasn’t related to those Eastmans, but she was a successful and respected photographer and was working for a little ol’ newspaper-like music magazine that started up around 1966 called “Rolling Stone.”
Her images of rock icons include Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Who, Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, The Beatles and so many more.
