Michael Hailey Snowden Sr.



WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Services for Michael Hailey Snowden Sr. will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with the Revs. John Swistovich and James Bluett officiating. A Christian wake service will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will be held at a later date. Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Snowden, 55, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, in Wichita Falls.

He was born on May 19, 1950 to James H. and Doris Baker Snowden in Meridian. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. He served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged as a Master Sgt. after more than 21 years. He was the recipient of the Combat Action Ribbon given by the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Gina Yi on March 5, 1983 in Killeen, Texas. He retired from the Federal Protective Service, where he had been in charge of the Anchorage, Alaska office. He was a police officer and sheriff’s deputy in New Mexico. He loved motorcycles and especially Harley-Davidsons.

Survivors include his wife, Gina Snowden of Wichita Falls; three children, Michael H. Snowden Jr. of Wichita Falls, Amanda Snowden of Wichita Falls and Mona Wilson and her husband, John Mark, of Germany; a brother, James E. Snowden and his wife, Martha, of Wichita Falls.

Alberta Bleau Luina

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Services for Alberta Bleau Luina will be held today at 1 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with the Rev. James Kallarackan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Woodfin Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Luina, 86, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Meridian, died Friday, March 24, 2006, in Murfreesboro. She was born in Alabaster, Mich. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic church.

Survivors include her husband, Ramon R. Luina Sr. of Murfreesboro; sons, Ramon R. Luina Jr. and his wife, Angela, of Yorktown, Va., Miguel Luina and his wife, Charo, of Falls Church, Va., Juan Luina and his wife, Sharon, of Lawrence, Kan.; daughters, Maria Luina Lara and Teresa Luina,both of Murfreesboro, Judith Luina George and her husband, David, of College Station, Texas; two sisters Genevieve Klinckhammer of Tuscon, Ariz. and Frances Kerrigan and her husband, Jack, of Sarasota, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Louis and Mary Elizabeth Kinney Bleau; sisters, Mary Johnson and Katherine Bentham and a brother, John Bleau.

Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Meridian.



Jack McKinnon

Retired



Graveside services for Jack McKinnon will be held today at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Revs. Edsol Wells and Bill Hutto officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McKinnon, 85, of Meridian, died Friday, March 24, 2006, at Beverly Health Care. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Marion. He was a member of the Ladies and Mens Bible Class and Sunday School class. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Louise McKinnon of Meridian; a daughter, Kathy Swartzfager and her husband, Jim, of Meridian; three grandchildren, Philip Swartzfager, Lisa Swartzfager and Amy Swartzfager; sisters-in-law, Tina Brown and Nita McKinnon both of Meridian and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida McKinnon; three sisters and two brothers.

Pallbearers will be David Van Doren, Mike Williams, Mike Brown, Butch Gibson, Larry Temple, Glenn Brown, Billy Hudson Jr., Kenny Fountain and Greg Fountain.

Honorary pallbearers will be E.B. Brown and Ronny Brown and members of his Sunday school class.

Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.



William Wightman Hardin

MACON — Services for William Wightman Hardin will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Macon with the Rev. Andy Pearson officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery in Macon. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hardin, 77, of Macon, died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Vickers Personal Care Home in Starkville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his brother, John Hardin; three nieces and three nephews.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.



Rebecca Stanley



UNION — Services for Rebecca Stanley will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Union United Methodist Church with the Revs. Byrd Hillman and Barry Skelton officiating. Burial will be in the Union City Cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Stanley, 70, of Union, died Thursday, March 23, 2006, in Union.

Survivors include her cousins.

Memorials may be made to Union United Methodist Church or a charity of choice.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.



Kenneth Levi Cotton

PHILADELPHIA — Services for Kenneth Levi Cotton will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Nanih Waiya Mennonite Church with the Rev. Ethan Good officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cotton, 55, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at the University of Alabama Birmingham Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Gina Lee Cotton; a daughter, Amanda Cotton and a son, Ronald O’Neil Cotton; two sisters; three grandchildren; four great-nieces and four great-nephews.



Ira Reed



QUITMAN — Services for Ira Reed will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at East Galilee Baptist Church in Rose Hill with the Rev. Spencer Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Reed, 77, of Stonewall, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, in his home.

Survivors include his wife, Rudy Reed of Stonewall; sons, Raymond Reed of Stonewall and Gerald Reed of Columbus, N.J.; daughters, Salley Butler of Plainfield, N.J. , Lisa Seymore of Meridian; step-daughters, Andrea Seymore of Tennessee, Mondlyn Seymore of Oklahoma and Zsabrille Seymore of Plainfield, N.J.; step-son, Amod Seymore of New Brunswick, N.J.; sisters, Berteal Sanders and Lucille Kelley, both of Somerset, N.J.; brothers, Hardy Lee Reed of Swanqua Quartet, N.C., Daniel Reed of Detroit, Samuel Reed of Rose Hill, George Reed of Stonewall, Jessie Reed Jr., Manuel Reed, Lenon Reed and Quenon Reed, all of Somerset.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Quitman and Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.
