Officer accused of bringing contraband into East Mississippi prison

A correctional officer at the East Mississippi Correctional Facility is accused of bringing contraband into the facility.

Shaquentia Love, 31 of Meridian was arrested Saturday night, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun said. Love faces one charge of prohibition and another charge of bringing a deadly weapon or contraband into jail, Calhoun said.

Love has been released on bond, Calhoun said.
