Dudley elected to MBA Board of Directors

    Michael Dudley of DeKalb has been elected to serve a three-year term on the Mississippi Bankers Association Board of Directors.

    Dudley will represent his region of the state on the board, which governs the 126-year-old association. MBA’s membership includes commercial banks and savings institutions operating in Mississippi, and the association’s members hold over 95 percent of the bank deposits in the state.

    Dudley serves as president and chief executive officer of The Commercial Bank in DeKalb. He has been with bank for 25 years. He earned a bachelor’s of accounting degree from the Mississippi State University. Prior to Dudley’s election to the MBA Board of Directors, he served on the MBA Lending Committee and Legislative Committee.

    Active in his community, Dudley serves as treasurer of the Community Foundation of East Mississippi. He also is a member of the Rotary Club and the Lending Committee of the East Central Planning Development District. Dudley is past president of the DeKalb Lions Club, past chairman of Kemper Academy School Board, past chairman of Lamar School board, past board president of Kemper County Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the board for the Lauderdale County Red Cross.

    Dudley and his wife, Sheila, have two sons. He is a member of DeKalb Methodist Church where he serves as a lay leader.

BankPlus hires Ray as executive VP-Community Banking

    BankPlus announced the hiring of Greg Ray as executive vice president-Community Banking.

    Ray comes to BankPlus with more than 25 years experience in the banking industry and most recently held the position of chief banking officer for BancorpSouth.  

    A native of Jackson, Tenn., Ray is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where he obtained a degree in banking and finance. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a graduate of the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He also holds a Wharton Leadership Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania.

    In the community, Ray serves as a board member for Sanctuary Hospice, and is a past president of Tupelo Country Club, past board member for Tupelo Kiwinas Club and past president for North Mississippi Kidney Foundation.

    Ray and his wife, Shannon, have two children, Reagan and Avery. They attend Harrisburg Baptist Church in Tupelo.
