The Salvation Army invites the community to bring hope this Giving Tuesday

The Salvation Army is excited to join the global Giving Tuesday movement on Dec. 3, a day dedicated to the transformative power of generosity. While Black Friday and Cyber Monday focus on deals and discounts, this celebration of giving offers an opportunity to share kindness and love by helping others throughout the community.

“This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking our community to come together and be a beacon of hope for others,” said Lt. Roy Fisher of the Salvation Army. “Every gift, no matter the size, has the power to turn someone’s struggles into a story of resilience. Together, we can make miracles happen.”

Through community support, The Salvation Army provides services to those facing hardship, including food, financial and holiday assistance. Locally, The Salvation Army has seen many families in the community struggling to pay for groceries and utilities, and remains committed to helping and encouraging those in need.

To succeed in its mission, however, The Salvation Army of Meridian needs community support.

“Our hope is that everyone will be reminded that one act of kindness can produce a lifetime of change,” said Fisher. “Whether it’s a coin in a kettle, volunteering to ring a bell, or just a simple act of kindness to a stranger, even the smallest gesture can make the biggest difference.”
