The Lauderdale County Tax Collector’s Office will close at 4 p.m. on Friday to prepare for a new statewide car tag sales system.

The State of Mississippi will go live Oct. 9 with its new system, the Mississippi Automated Registration Vehicle Information Network, and the local tax collector’s office is closing early the Friday before to “ensure a smooth transition whenever we open for business on October 9, 2017 at 8 a.m.,” according to a news release.
