Alabama law enforcement charged Javoris Tyshon Jenkins in the shooting death of Eric Evans, in York, Ala., last week.

On Feb. 2, before 12:30 a.m., a shooting occurred on Hayes Road in York, near the York West End Junior High School. The shooting killed Evans, 26, and injured Nico Taylor, 27, according to Senior Trooper Reginal King of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. 

King did not have an update Thursday on Taylor’s injuries. 

York Police Chief Ray McVay said last week Evans, of York, had just turned 26 on Thursday. 

King said Jenkins had been charged with murder and attempted murder.

Jenkins bond has been set at $60,000.
