The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 6 a.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday:

• Burglary/dwelling house – Alfonzo L. McDonald, 32, 2301 43rd Ave., Meridian. McDonald is also charged with probation violation/parole.

• Simple assault/threat – Willie Cherry, born in 1967, homeless. Cherry is also charged with petit larceny.

• Shoplifting – Precious A. Stewart – born in 1990, 2313 36th Ave., Meridian.

• Telephone harassment – David A. Gordon, born in 1977, 8502 Johnny Bailey Road, Bailey. Gordon is also charged with driving under the influence.

• Disturbance of the peace – LaPorisha Stephens, born in 1994, 2312 10th Ave., Meridian.

• Shoplifting/first offense – Justin C. Blackwell, born in 1984, 315 School St., Stonewall.

• DUI/other – Jacob Davis, born in 2000, 9205 Lizelia Road, Meridian. Davis is also charged with possession of marijuana.

• DUI/first – Frankie Collier, born in 1992, 1502 30th Ave., Meridian.

• Meridian Police responded to 1 shots fired calls but when officers arrived on the scene, there was not any evidence found to support the call.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests from 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday.

• No driver’s license – Brittany Boles, 19, 4647 Dr. Brock Road, Meridian. Boles is also charged with contempt of court/five counts.

• Simple assault – Simiya Nichole Davis, 18, 10254 Lynn Lane, Lot 6, Meridian.

• Contempt of court – Ginny Dearing, 39, 4068 Old Homestead Road, Meridian.

• No driver’s license – Greg Ford Jr., 27, 2311 34th Ave., Meridian. Ford is also charged with no license tag, seat belt violation/four counts.

• Possession of paraphernalia – John David Jones, 47, 423 CR 1412, Quitman.

• Driving under the influence/first offense – Ariyon R. Lewis, 32, 2207 13th Ave., Meridian. Lewis is also charged with no license tag.

• No driver’s license – William Carlos Saterfield Jr., 42, 374 Jeffrey Acres Road, Meridian. Saterfield is also charged with improper license tag display, no liability insurance.

• No driver’s license – Fredrick W. Waters, 55, 2327 Whitter Road, Meridian.
