Meridian man accused of fondling state hospital patient

A Meridian man has been accused of fondling a vulnerable person at East Mississippi State Hospital while employed at the facility, according to the state Attorney General’s Office.
A Lauderdale County grand jury indicted Kenneth Tanksley, 27, for the crime and Tanksley surrendered to authorities Friday, according to a news release.
Tanksley, if convicted, faces up to 15 years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines.
Trey Rogers, with the Attorney General’s Office’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, investigated and Special Assistant Attorney General Kathy Parker will prosecute.
