Meridian Police Department
The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 6 a.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday:
• Malicious Mischief – Cordarius Kennedy, born in 1994, 4715 13th Street, Meridian.
• Simple assault – Daphine Bell, born in 1994, 915 40th Avenue, Meridian.
• Simple assault domestic – James Johnson, born in 1978, 1716 Highway 19 South, Meridian.
• Simple assault – Fanchesca Bennett, born in 1987, 910 42nd Avenue, Meridian.
• Willfull trespassing – Amos Ivy, born in 1992, 5346 8th Street, Meridian.
• Trespassing – Shaneika Hailes, born in 1992, 301 63rd Place, Meridian.
• Simple assault – Joe Shamburger, born in 1987, 8325 Poplar Springs Drive, Meridian.
• Shoplifting 3rd or greater – Ava Sheffield, born in 1988, 2216 MLK Drive, Meridian.
• Possession of paraphernalia – Kevin Spears, born in 1984, 4003 36th Avenue, Meridian. Spears is also charged with disregard traffic device, suspended drivers license, no insurance, DUI second offense.
• Refusing to obey police – Vanoy Adams, born in 1994, 4314 20th Street, Meridian.
• Possession of marijuana – Liltavius Smith, born in 1991, 3302 69th Avenue, Meridian.
• DUI – Airien Clay, born in 1992, 3610 34th Street, Meridian. Clay is also charged with no insurance, suspended drivers license, improper equipment, tint violation, failed to yield, and seatbelt violation.
• Burglary – Cordarious Kennedy, born in 1994, 1318 19th Street, Meridian.
Incident Reports
The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Tuesday:
Commercial burglary
• 2000 block of Old Marion Road.
Stolen vehicles
• 3600 block of Parkway Boulevard.
• 3200 block of 11th Street.
Shooting
Meridian Police responded to 3 shots-fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was not any evidence found to support the calls.
Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department
The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests from 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday.
• Domestic violence-simple assault – Melissa Amanda Dew, 37, 1398 Will Wright Road, Meridian.
• Burglary-commercial building, cars, etc. – Cordarius Antone Kennedy, 22, 1318 19th Street George Reece 1-7, Meridian.
• Failure to pay (Justice Court) – Allen Earl Nause, 34, 69 E Graves Road, Sumerall.
• Contempt of court – Melissa Dawn Rawson, 38, 3729 Louise Drive, Lauderdale.
• Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute – Jacorie Davion Smith, 21, 5031 37th Street, Meridian.
• Possession of paraphernalia – Kevin Lee Spears, 32, 4003 36th Avenue, Meridian. Spears is also charged with disregard of traffic device, driving with suspended license, no liability insurance, driving under the influence (DUI) second offense, hold for outside agency, probation violation.
• Trespass upon enclosed land of another – Curtis M. Thomas, 40, 529 54th Avenue, Meridian. Thomas is also charged with malicious mischief/vandalism and telephone harassment.
