The East Mississippi Correctional Facility set a record for GED graduates for its academic department with 38 offenders receiving an equivalent to a high school diploma in 2018. 

The final 21 GED graduates will be honored at a graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21.

“Congratulations to the hardworking instructors in preparing and encouraging the offenders to achieve this prestigious accomplishment,” Ray Rice, the deputy warden of program at EMCF, said in a news release. “Excellent programs (are) the key to effective rehabilitation.”
