Runners place at state finals

A number of area teams competed in the MHSAA track and field championships this past weekend. Top three finishers for each school are as follows:

Meridian (Class 6A)

•Girls placed first in 4X800-meter relay

•Boys placed second in 4X800-meter relay

•Corredius Naylor placed first in the boys 800-meter run

•Boys placed third in the 4X400-meter relay

•Lou Nabors placed third in the boys long jump

•Lou Nabors placed second in the boys triple jump

 

West Lauderdale (Class 4A)

•Girls placed third in 4X800-meter relay

•Emma Claire James placed first in the girls 1,600-meter run

•Emma Claire James placed third in the girls 800-meter run

 

Clarkdale (Class 2A)

•Brooke Robinson placed first in the girls 3,200-meter run

•Brooke Robinson placed first in girls 1,600-meter run

 

Northeast Lauderdale (Class 4A)

•Syerie Moton placed first in the girls 100-meter dash

•Syerie Moton placed first in the girls 200-meter dash

 

Quitman (Class 4A)

•Boys placed first in 4X200-meter relay

 

Newton (Class 2A)

•Girls placed third in 4X800-meter relay

•Boys placed first in 4X800-meter relay

•Boys placed second in 4X200-meter relay

•Alazaya Jones placed second in the girls 300-meter hurdles

•Ladarious Hardy placed first in the boys 800-meter run

•Dayreke Snow placed first in the boys triple jump
