WORSHIP SITE PROFILE: Kingdom Harvest Church

Kingdom Harvest Ministries was established October 2011, under the visionary Pastor James and Lady Yolanda Porter.

Romans 8:16 states that “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit we are Children of God,” and served as the inspiration to create Kingdom Harvest. The aforementioned scripture prompted Pastor Porter to name the ministry “Kingdom Harvest” because we are God’s children and we are the “harvest.”

The vision of the Kingdom Harvest is to rebuild, reconnect and restructure. This vision was formulated after observing the factors contributing to community deterioration, high school drop out rates, lack of activities for the youth in the community, and other factors contributing to the debilitating state of our community, state, economy and people.

Kingdom Harvest initially began with six members and now have grown to more than 60 members. The power-packed members under the guidance of Pastor James and Lady Yolanda Porter has utilized the ministry to spread the Word of God far and near. Throughout the years, Kingdom Harvest has ministered the Word of God to people throughout the country and in other areas of the World.

Kingdom Harvest is a community based, nondenominational ministry that believes in supporting the community. Throughout the existence of Kingdom Harvest, numerous accomplishments have been demonstrated throughout the community. For example, “I Never Knew My Father Initiative” was designed and implemented to reunite the family unit under biblical foundations to promote the familial unit in the community. Next, “The Single Mom’s Ministry” was created to promote biblical guidance for single mothers in the community and deal with the stressors of singleness, parenting, and community support. Other events include “Back to School Giveaways” providing educational supplies and clothing to students and schools prior to starting school. “Nursing Home Ministry” includes visiting nursing homes and providing residents toiletries, prayer, and sharing the Word of God. Next, the “Battered Women’ Shelter Ministry” offers support, prayer, and sharing the Word of God to battered women in shelters. We also hosted at First Responders Appreciation for first responders in Lauderdale County.

Our next and exciting power-packed event, “Faith Impact,” will be held at the Dulaney Center at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at with our guest speaker Apostle Mike and Dr. Dee Dee Freeman of Spirit of Faith Christian Center. Everyone is invited and the cost is free. We encourage all of the community to come out to support this event.
