Law enforcement reports: July 19-20

Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 6 a.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday:

• Possession of marijuana – Jacarius Jones, born in 1991, 2015 Mosby Road, Meridian. Jones is also charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, no driver’s license, no turn signal.

• Driving under the influence – Jesse Green, born in 1949, 939 Bonita Drive.

Incident Reports

The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Wednesday to Thursday:

Auto burglary

• 3900 block of Poplar Springs Drive, 8:17 a.m.

Residential burglary

• 2000 block of 38th Avenue, 6:33 p.m.

• Meridian Police responded to 5 shots fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was not any evidence found to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests from 8:44 a.m. Wednesday and 8:43 a.m. Thursday.

• Possession of paraphernalia – Christopher Manuel Avant, 28, 550 Alamutcha Street Lot 14, Marion.

• Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute – Labarry Jarode Burge, 26, 627 21st Street, Meridian. Burge is also charged with sale of cocaine.

• Vulnerable adult abuse/neglect/exploitation – Christopher Josh Dean, 383 Briarwood Road, Lot 69, Meridian.

• Driving under the influence of other substance – Robert Lamar Fisher, 33, 4423 Arundel Road, Meridian. Fisher is also charged with suspended driver’s license.

• Possession of paraphernalia – Jennifer Lynn Matherly, 28, 2392 Freedom Baptist Church Road, Meridian.

• Possession of marijuana/vehicle – Karen Bernice Yates, 43, 1114 Sheffield Road, Cuba, Ala. Yates is also charged with no license resident, expired tag, no liability insurance.

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents from Wednesday:

Missing person

• 8059 Lauderdale/Toomsuba Road, Meridian.

Intoxicated driver

• 7802 Poplar Springs Drive Meridian.

Stopping suspicious

• Highway 11/80 Will Garrett, Meridian.

Fire Runs

The Meridian Fire Departments reported the following calls from Wednesday:

• Vehicle fire, Front Street Extension.

• Outside fire, 22nd Avenue Heights.

• Vehicle accident, South Frontage Road.

• Vehicle accident, Highway 45 North.

The Lauderdale County Volunteer Fire Departments reported the following calls from Wednesday:

• Emergency medical service, Shelby Gressett Road (Toomsuba).

• Structure fire, Old Country Club Road (Marion, Northeast).

• Motor vehicle accident, Clarke County (Clarkdale).

Ambulance Runs

Metro Ambulance reported 23 emergency runs Thursday at 2 p.m.
