Prep football previews: Kemper Academy, Calvary to square off — finally

Here are several matchups from around Lauderdale County set to take place Friday.

CALVARY AT KEMPER ACADEMY

Notable: The game between Kemper Academy (7-0, 1-0) and Calvary Christian School (1-6, 0-3) was originally slated for Sept. 18 before massive scheduling changes following the addition of new schools to the MAIS moved the game to Friday.

Notable: Northeast Lauderdale High School (3-4) opened area play last week with a tough 21-7 loss to Northeast Jones High School.

•Stop Mendenhall from hitting big plays

•Win on special teams

WEST LAUDERDALE AT NORTHEAST JONES

Notable: After not winning a single regional game last year, West Lauderdale High School (5-2) opened its area schedule last week with a 21-7 win against Quitman High School

RUSSELL CHRISTIAN AT MARENGO ACADEMY

Notable: After an 0-2 start to its district schedule, Russell Christian Academy (1-6) will face one of its two remaining games in its area Friday on the road.
