Santa to visit Earth’s Bounty Festival Saturday
Earth’s Bounty Festival will celebrate Christmas in July this Saturday, July 6, during the monthly farmers market and crafts festival at Singing Brakeman Park on Front Street in downtown Meridian.
The event will open at 8 a.m. and run until noon. Admission is free.
Temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 80s on Saturday, but that won’t deter Santa, who will be at the market in his shorts and flip-flops filling his bag with fresh produce and homemade goods, according to a press release from the city’s Community Development Department. Attendees are encouraged to bring their children to visit Santa from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the festival. It is also recommended attendees bring a camera to snap photos of their children visiting with Santa.
Lots of fresh produce will be on sale at the market, including ripe tomatoes and green tomatoes, peas, corn, cucumbers, sweet peppers, red potatoes, squash and zucchini. Also available will be eggs, honey, bread and lots of baked goods.
Former Meridian musician, singer and songwriter Aa’Keela Hudnall will be on hand to rock the market with her special blend of pop, country and the Blues.
Anyone hoping to celebrate Christmas early in July is invited to head on down to Singing Brakeman Park this Saturday.
