NightMarket, a collaboration between Earth’s Bounty and the Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience, returns to downtown Meridian Thursday, Sept. 19.

Visitors can shop Earth’s Bounty regular vendors who will be set up in The MAX courtyard from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission to NightMarket is free.

A wide-range of local makers and bakers will be on hand offering homemade baked breads, cookies, cakes and muffins, as well as handcrafted art pieces, including pottery and jewelry. A few farmers and gardeners will be on hand with a limited amount of produce due to a slowdown in the harvest from the summer heat and the recent hurricane.

Roadside Rescue Network, a new vendor at NightMarket, will be present with several of their canine friends, some which will be available for adoption, and with homemade pet treats available for purchase.

For those in search of dinner, Munchies and More will offer a mix of Asian and American food, and Robin’s Kitchen will have gumbo and chicken and dumplings. Cold beer and wine also will be available at the market.

Providing entertainment Thursday night will be Neshun Holmes, a graduate of the Delta Music Institute entertainment industry studies program at Delta State University. Known for her neo-soul sound, Holmes has performed with the Deep Roots Music Project in Cleveland. She will be accompanied by her guitarist.

The MAX will set up children’s activities for the market, and the presenting sponsor, Greater Meridian Health Clinic, will be on-site in the courtyard to provide free health screenings.
