Boil water notice lifted in Kemper County

The Mississippi Department of Health has lifted a boil water notice for NW Kemper County Water Association in Cleveland and Kynard.

The notice affect 1,502 customers, according to a press release from the department.

The department’s Public Health Laboratory tested the water following the discovery of E. coli and Coliform in samplings last week.

Officials ask that residents run their faucets for at least ten minutes and their dishwashers through one or two cycles to ensure a clean line before drinking and using water from the faucet. They also recommend checking water filters and rewashing dishes.
