Brickhaus Bar and Grill closed by ABC

The Brickhaus Bar and Grill on Front Street in Meridian was closed by special agents with Alcoholic Beverage Control with the Mississippi Department of Revenue on Wednesday night.

A search warrant was executed at the bar, according to Katlin O’Dougherty, communications specialist with Alcoholic Beverage Control. O’Dougherty could not confirm a time.

Darla K. Welch, 49 of Meridian was arrested and charged with selling beer/wine without a license, O’Dougherty said. Special agents seized 325 bottles of beer, O’Dougherty said.

O’Dougherty said she couldn’t comment on how long the bar was operating without a license or when the business will reopen.

Bill Arlinghaus, the bar’s owner, said he hopes to reopen soon.

“We are working through the issues to come back into full compliance so that we can reopen, hopefully within a few days,” Arlinghaus said in a email.
