Alyssa Branyan named player of the week by NJCAA, MACJC

Meridian Community College freshman softball player Alyssa Branyan earned both statewide and nationwide recognition, as she was named both the NJCAA Division II Softball Player of the Week and the MACJC Player of the Week. Branyan helped lead the Lady Eagles to a 4-0 record on the week.

A freshman first baseman from Hernando, Branyan was 9-for-15 at the plate with three home runs and 10 runs batted in in the last week. In a 14-5 win over Mississippi Delta Community College, Branyan hit two home runs and tallied six RBIs.

Branyan is batting .314 for the season. She has four home runs and 14 runs batted in on the year. The Lady Eagles are currently 7-5 on the season.
