Meridian residents and visitors flocked to downtown Thursday evening as the final Third Thursday of the season kicked off with a performance by local duo Sparrow Broughton in Dumont Plaza.

Following Sparrow Broughton was the Blues Messengers with its unique blend of hill country and old school blues. In addition to the live music, the family and pet friendly event offered food, cold drinks, snow cones and more.

Attendees also had the opportunity to challenge Mississippi State Games Commissioner James Hearn to a table tennis match, with t-shirts, gift certificates and more up for grabs.

Third Thursday is presented by the Meridian Council for the Arts and sponsored by the City of Meridian, Visit Meridian, Magnolia Beverage, Mitchell Distributing, the Paul and Sherry Broadhead Foundation and the Mississippi Arts Commission.
