Meridian Police Department has been hard at work this week making multiple arrests in several separate investigations.
Det. Chanetta Stevens, who serves as public information officer for MPD, said officers, along with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, arrested two men on Feb. 5 who are wanted for crimes in Harrison County. Tyrick Presley, 19, and Santavious Walker, 22, are wanted on charges of home invasion and armed robbery, she said.
MPD also arrested 26-year-old Nykeisha Walker in connection with the case, Stevens said. She is charged with aiding and abetting known fugitives.
In a separate investigation, officers on Feb. 7 arrested 34-year-old Eddie Stewart and charged him with burglary, Stevens said. Steward is a suspect in a residential burglary that took place on Jan. 26 in Meridian, she said.
Bond for Stewart was set at $50,000. The case remains under active investigation, and Stevens said more arrests are expected.
Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact Meridian Police Department at 769-298-5111 or East Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 855-485-847.
Homicide
MPD is also asking the public to come forward with any information that could help investigators in an October 2023 homicide.
Stevens said Joeies Rogers was shot and killed in the 2400 block of Fifth Street on October 22. MPD is asking residents to share any information, video or photos that they think could be relevant.
Those with information to share can call Meridian Police Department and ask for Sgt. D. Thompson or contact East Mississippi Crime Stoppers.
