The Mississippi Children’s Museum is honored to be recognized as the third best children’s museum in the country by USA Today for the 2024 Reader’s Choice Travel Awards.
Twenty museums were nominated by an expert panel, and then the nominees were voted on by museum supporters and USA Today readers. The Mississippi Children’s Museum was recognized as third in the “USA Today 10 Best Children’s Museums in the U.S.” list and is part of USA Today’s annual 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
USA Today said the Mississippi Children’s Museum offers “dynamic hands-on exhibits and learning programs” that make the museum “an engaging and fun place for kiddos.” It also noted that the museum, which includes a satellite location in Meridian, emphasizes the areas of literacy, health and nutrition, cultural arts, STEAM, and Mississippi heritage.
“It is an honor to be recognized as one of the best children’s museums in the country,” said MCM President Susan Garrard. “MCM is the state’s largest educational institution for children and provides a safe, imaginative space for children and families of all backgrounds to play, learn and grow. To be recognized nationally is a testament to our steadfast commitment to provide excellence and unparalleled experiences to our visitors.”
