“We’ve had great success with our traditional adults-only fundraisers during the summer and winter. However, we wanted to provide a unique opportunity for families to support the museum in a fun way and thought Valentine’s Day would be the perfect time to do that,” said Shelby Chaney, director of development and external affairs. “We’re so excited to host the Love Bug Boogie family dance. We’ve never held any event like it.”

Tickets for Love Bug Boogie, which is not included in the museum membership, are $15 per person and are all-inclusive. As a limited number of tickets will be sold, guests are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets online at www.mcmmeridian.org.

Love Bug Boogie will feature groovy music and a lively dance floor, as well as sweet and savory bites and plenty of lovable crafts. The museum’s regular exhibit galleries will also be open for any children wishing to play during the event.

“We hope to engage the whole family during Love Bug Boogie, offering something that everyone will enjoy — delicious food and dancing,” said Christin Waters, MCM-Meridian partner and event chair. “The event will feature an array of food, delicious desserts, champagne for adults, a festive dance floor adorned with disco balls and hearts, raffles, and much more. It’s a fantastic opportunity to have fun while supporting your children’s museum.”

Guests will have the opportunity to participate in light-hearted fundraising activities and win exciting prizes. Gift baskets for girls, boys, men and women will be raffled off throughout the evening. Additionally, there will be a song request table with a list of song options available for only $2.

The Love Bug Boogie family fundraiser is organized by MCM-Meridian Partners, a volunteer arm of the museum whose mission is to promote and support fundraising activities. All proceeds raised through the Valentine’s dance will directly support the mission and vision of MCM-Meridian.

To attend the event, all parties must be accompanied by a child. MCM-Meridian is located at 403 22nd Avenue in Meridian.

Love Bug Boogie is sponsored by Great Southern Bank, The Citizens Bank of Philadelphia, Ole Towne Family Pharmacy, Saul Dermatology state Sen. Jeff and Leigha Tate and an anonymous donor.
