Paintings and ceramics will be spotlighted when Mississippi artist Gail Morton brings her works for the next Meridian Community College Casteel Gallery show.

The exhibit opens Tuesday, Feb. 13, and continues through March 19. The opening reception is planned for Feb. 13 from 4-5:30 p.m. The campus and community are invited to attend.

Morton, an instructor at Blue Mountain Christian University in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, uses various materials in her works. She has a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of Mississippi and a master’s in secondary art education from Delta State University. She was named the Alex and Jean Loeb Award winner at the Mississippi Art Colony’s Fall 2023 show for her drawing, “The Counselor.”

The Casteel Gallery is open Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free.
