The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 6 a.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday:

• Simple assault – Monesha Dawson, born in 1997, 2305 D St. Apt. J-4, Meridian.

• Simple assault – Christina Ford, born in 1980, 1004 65th Ave., Meridian.

• Simple assault – Charman Dawson, born in 1994, 1318 19th St. Apt. K-3, Meridian. Dawson is also charged with simple assault/threat.

• Trespassing/two counts – Sherry L. Creekmore, born in 1973, 2305 D. St. Apt. C-1, Meridian.

• Telephone harassment – Ericka McCain, born in 1983, 1506 Manning St., Meridian.

• Disorderly conduct – Patrick Ortiz, born in 1998, 4524 Hwy. 39N Apt. D-50, Meridian.

• Possession of paraphernalia – Kari Carmichael, born in 1989, 11462 Meehan-Savoy Road, Enterprise. Carmichael is also charged with possession of marijuana.

• Shoplifting – Sherry L. Creekmore, born in 1973, 2305 D. St. Apt. C-1, Meridian.

• Possession of paraphernalia – Burns Mayfield, born in 1997, 8243 Lizelia Road, Meridian. Mayfield is also charged with possession of marijuana.

• Shoplifting – Lorri Sweeny, born in 1983, 6671 SE 171st Ct. Ocklawaha, Fla.

• Shoplifting – Patrick Thompson, born in 1979, 6671 SE 171st Ct. Ocklawaha, Fla.

• Shoplifting – Jamillian Benamon, born in 1990, homeless.

• Shoplifting – Bethany N. Darcie, born in 1984, 8026 A Okatibbee Dam Road, Collinsville.

• Public drunk – Christina R. Lewis, born in 1985, 2011 28th Ave., Meridian. Lewis is also charged with resisting arrest.

• Malicious mischief – Zorisha K. Lanier, born in 1995, 7648 Jo Thomas Road, Meridian.

• Simple assault/threat – Demshia S. Lee, born in 1998, 3303 Davis St., Meridian. Lee is also charged with simple assault.

• Shoplifting – Christina R. Lewis, born in 1985, 2011 28th Ave., Meridian.

Commercial burglary

• 6400 block of Hwy. 19N at 11:36 a.m.

Auto burglary

• 100 block of South Frontage Road at 8:24 p.m.

• Meridian Police responded to 5 shots fired calls but when officers arrived on the scene, there was not any evidence found to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests from 8:44 a.m. Wednesday and 8:43 a.m. Thursday.

• Probation violation/parole – Joshua Edward Cavenaugh, 31, 1451 B Fairchild Road, Meridian.

• Driving under the influence/first offense – Bobby Clyde Clayton, 58, 1318 19th St. K-1, Meridian. Clayton is also charged with failure to signal, seat belt violation, no driver’s license, no liability insurance.

• Suspended driver’s license – Christopher L. Harris, 21, 506 Front St., Meridian. Harris is also charged with switched tag/license plate, driving without headlights, no liability insurance.

• Failure to pay/two counts – Stephen L. Labat, 50, 376 Jeffery Acres Road, Meridian.

• Motor vehicle theft/felony – Phillip Hall Uptain, 59, 1824 Alabama River Pkwy., Millbrooke, Ala.

• Embezzlement – Shuncoris DeShaun Washington, 19, 4514 Highland Park Drive, Meridian.
