Burgers & Barks at Bonita to raise money for animal rescue

The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation Leadership Lauderdale Team is hosting Burgers & Barks at Bonita Saturday as its community service project to benefit the East Mississippi Animal Rescue Shelter.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. near the boat ramp and spillway at Bonita Lakes Park in Meridian.
Activities will include a pet parade, food and drinks, Jumpy for the children, a pet photo booth and face painting. A Pet Contest will begin at noon and include prizes for “Best Dog in Show;” “Best Owner/Pet Costume;” “Best Trick;” “Cutest Pup” and “Ugliest Mutt.” Cash prizes will be awarded for each category.
Music will be provided by Dan Confait, Daniel Houze and Caleb Martin.
There is a $25 entry fee for the Pet Contest/Parade, which includes admission to the event for the canine and its family. There is a $10 entry fee for families who don’t enter a pet in the contests.
