Dwayne Davis will be sworn in as the new councilman for the Ward 2 seat on the Meridian City Council at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1. 

The ceremony will take place in the third floor auditorium at city hall.

Davis was elected to the position in a special election on June 23.

He succeeds Tyrone Johnson, who was removed from the seat in February when fellow council members determined he didn’t live in Ward 2.
