The State Games of Mississippi welcomed lead intern Autumn Welborn to the staff as everyone gears up for the beginning of this year’s competitions and the Coca Cola Opening Ceremony May 31 in downtown Meridian.
“Autumn is a former State Games medalist and, through her activities at Enterprise High School, is familiar with the games and working with other interns who are her age,” Carolyn Smith, Executive Director, said in a news release.
At Enterprise High School, Welborn was a member of the yearbook staff, raising money through the sale of ads, supervising the work of three team members and collaborating with sponsors in the design and creation of ads. She is currently seeking an Associate’s Degree at Meridian Community College.
A tennis player, Welborn was named “Most Valuable Player” for Enterprise High School Tennis in 2018, was Reserve at the All-District Mixed Doubles in 2018 and won a silver medal at the 2017 State Games of Mississippi.
