Worship Site Profile: Trinity Presbyterian Church

For a long time, there had been a growing sense for the need of a Presbyterian Church in the northern section of Meridian. On May 15, 1950, a group met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Ludlam to discuss planting a new church. An option to buy the residence and lot of Mrs. W. W. Willis at 4223 Poplar Springs Drive was secured. This is the location where the church sits today.

The original sanctuary was completed in 1950 and a major addition, that included the Family Life Center, was made in the 1990s. In February 2017, Trinity became the first ECO: An Evangelical Covenant Order of Presbyterians Church in Mississippi. The denomination was formed in 2012 by like-minded, Bible-based congregations from the Presbyterian Church (USA). Since its inception, the ECO has grown to more than 340 congregations and is welcoming many new fellowships every month.

The Trinity Fellowship is dedicated to its many missions including a backpack food ministry for needy children in local schools. Additional ministries include support of the Veterans Center, Feed by Faith, the Wesley House and the Boys and Girls Club. Its ministries are funded in part with the proceeds from Trinity’s annual Holiday Gift Bazaar held the second Saturday in November.

The worship, teaching, and preaching are Bible-based and the services are uplifting and inspiring. Trinity has an active choir and a music program that combines both contemporary and traditional music. The members of Trinity Presbyterian are a loving fellowship welcoming all with open arms and warm hearts.
