Worship Site Profile: Trinity Assembly of God

Published 5:15 pm Thursday, August 16, 2018

Trinity Assembly of God was founded Aug. 1, 1982, with the first service being held in the home of Jody and Agnes Lewis on 45th Ave. in Meridian. The church was formed with 54 members. Rev. Douglas and Eunice Stone were elected as pastors. The charter deacon board consisted of B.R. Lafferty, Jody Lewis, John Carlee, Carl Burrage, and John Bynum.

The church soon moved to the 7 Day Adventist Church Building on Bounds Road (now N. Hill Street). A search was made for property to build. Mr. Sanders of Sanders Gas sold the property located at the corner of State Blvd. Extension and Pine Springs Rd. to the church at approximately half the value. Building began soon after and was completed in September 1984.
