Worship Site Profile: Northside Church of the Nazarene

Published 10:00 am Friday, November 10, 2017

The congregation, known as Northside Nazarene, built and moved into their beautiful building on Great River Drive in 1994. This merger of the former Oakland Heights and First Church of the Nazarene was the result of much prayer from their faithful members.

Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10 says, “Two are better than one because they have a good return for Their labor; If either of them falls down, One can help the other up.”

This has been proven to be true for Northside Nazarene. Since this merger, the church has seen many come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and have expressed their experience through water baptism. They have also seen many children and families learn God’s Word through Sunday School, Bible drills, and years of Vacation Bible School. Besides being known as a loving church with solid Biblical teaching and preaching, this church is also home to and anointed and gifted worship band.

Northside Nazarene holds worship services at 11 a.m. Sunday, with Sunday School beginning at 10 a.m. Last year the church began a small group meeting on the second Sunday night of each month, with the emphasis on fellowship, leadership, and evangelism.

If you do not have a church family, we would love to welcome you to ours. Come and be blessed by God’s grace and mercy.

Special upcoming events:

We have a special Thanksgiving Block Party scheduled from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 12, hoping to reach our community through food, fellowship and music. We have the wonderful talents of Emily White and Scott McQuaig joining our own Monday Night Band in presenting God’s Word through song.

On the menu will be a traditional turkey dinner with dressing and vegetables.

We also invite everyone to come see Christian Country and Bluegrass artist Christian Davis, on Dec. 10 for evening worship at 5 p.m. No purchase necessary, the concert is free to public and love offering will be taken that night.
